A large number of defective copies of the Nokia 7900 Prism are reported to have been spotted on offer. The 2 Mp camera is to blame. As it was revealed in the tests conducted by Phonearena.com, the module produced a blurry orange spot in the center of every picture taken which occupied about 40% of the total area. When the evidence was submitted to Nokia's representatives, that particular copy of the device was asked to be sent over to Nokia for examination, since nothing like that had been ever spotted before, as claimed by Nokia. However further tests by the same site at Nokia World 2007 proved the persistence of the fault once again. Then a copy of Nokia 7900 belonging to a Nokia employee was tested, and the result was virtually the same. No official statements were made by Nokia yet.
