LG win two awards at the CDMA Achievent Awards ceremony.
SMAPE  News  LG win two awards at the CDMA Achievent Awards ceremony.

In this year, once again LG Electronics secured their position as the world's leading CDMA product vendor.

The LG Electronics company won two awards for achievements in the sphere of 3G CDMA technologies at the CMDMA Industry Achievement Awards ceremony. For the third year running, the company representatives return from the ceremony with the award presented for innovative developments in the telecom industry and leading position in the CDMA sphere. This time the award was given to LG by the CDG group for designing the Voyager (LG-VX10000) phone, which was released in the US two months ago. This handset comes with an interactive touchscreen and a QWERTY keyboard, which makes it easier to use technologies like fullscreen HTML browsing in the web and the e-mail service. Besides LG, an award was given to the Verizon Wireless company, the biggest North American CDMA operator and distributor of Voyager phones.

The head executive of the North American research lab run by LG was presented with a personal CDG award for keeping his company's leading position in the CDMA industry. The latest developments run in the lab were largely aimed at improving ThirdGeneration Partnership Project 2 standards (3GPP2) - a intracorporational project initiated to define common technical standards utilized for the 3G mobile networks.

According to the report of Strategic Analytics, by the end of the third quarter of 2007 the LG company sold about 27,7 million copies of their phones, remaining the leading vendor on the CDMA market with a total sales share of 21,2%. As estimated by the majority of experts, the company's leading market position will grow increasingly dominating over the course of the next few years. By the way, it was back in 2005 when LG first ascended to the top of the CDMA vendor chart.
