The ROKR E8 music phone stands against the background of other competitors particularly due to the availability of the Omega Wheel navigation element which allows both for extremely fast and comfortable playlist navigation and easy menu browsing. The second useful addition is the keyboard entirely based on the touch technology. Depending on the current menu or application window, only active buttons are backlit. Every time a button is pressed, a slight acknowledgement vibration can be felt. E8 supports GSM and GPRS networks, is equipped with a 2 Mpix camera, a screen capable of displaying up to 262K colors (up to the QVGA standard), 2 Gb of onboard memory, a microSD card slot, FM radio and a 3.5 standard headset jack. The price of the novelty is €280. The European stores are expected to receive shipments of this phone in the final quarter of 2008.

Motorola RIZR Z10 is in turn the sequel to the once mighty Motorola RIZR Z8 which now passes the torch to the newer development. The new handset makes use of the Symbian 9.2 operating system. The phone supports GSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA, GPRS and EDGE networking, the maximum HSDPA data transfer speed is up to 3,6 Mbit/s. The camera module sports a 3,2 Mpix resolution and comes with a 8x digital zoom, a flash and the possibility to record QVGA videos. Video calls enjoy full support just as well – the front panel features a secondary VGA camera. Z10 is equipped with a 2,2’’ screen (320x240 pic, 16M colors), 90 Mb of onboard memory, a microSD memory card slot, a Bluetooth module and a miniUSB slot. The estimated price is €400. Shipments will begin by the end of this year.
