The research conducted by the American “J.D. Power and Associates” marketing company showed some tendency towards increasing the average price of mobiles.
The cause of such increase is that the users tend to purchase more functional gadgets, which naturally are more expensive. The average price for a handset rose $9 as compared to 2007. The average price rose from $92 to $101 during the last six months. The level of demand for simple phones is rather high on developing markets.
In the last half a year the percentage of end users purchasing contract devices also lowered from 36% to 33%.
