The device filters out background noise and provides for a high quality of sound in different environments – in the car, office and even when outdoors in windy weather. The first gadget of this kind, the Nokia LPS-1 model, was developed more than 100 years ago and the new product is its sequel, featuring all the best specs and operating wirelessly at the same time.

"At Nokia, we continuously study how we can better address the needs of people with physical, sensory, or cognitive impairments, so that also they have full access to mobile technology," says Mikko Haho, key engineer of the Nokia Wireless Loopset.

The gadget will start selling worldwide in the first quarter 2009 and will retail for less than €200.
