A group of enthusiasts has created an installer to run Google Android on the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet. This once again proves that Google Android can work on hardware platforms by the manufacturers not entering the OHA (Open Handset Alliance) group.
The developers told that the primary intent of installing Android on Nokia N810 was the necessity of creating and testing applications using not the emulator offered by Google but a real physical gadget. The developers also mentioned that the system still contains mistakes and is interesting for a limited amount of experts yet.

The N810 tablet is based on the Maemo Linux OS and the Google Android OS is also based on the Linux kernel. A full-blown version of Android for the Nokia Internet Tablet is planned for release in the future.
