SMAPE  News  Burnside P400 Tough Phone – a full-value substitute for a landline

The British Burnside Telecom company presented a GSM phone looking like a stationary wire phone. The gadget features an IP65 protection rating, that is, it’s dustproof and can operate in the rain.

P400 is a quad band GSM device with a stainless steel armored handset cord. The phone is capable of operating from the AC power line or battery pack charged from the onboard solar panel.

Burnside P400 GSM Tough Phone is available in a few versions that differ in the quantity of keys. 3, 6 or 15 key keypads are available as well as a no-key variant. Each key can be set to act as a quick dial key or to grant access to other functions.

The gadget is ideal to provide emergency calls for public safety purposes.
