SDK for Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 now available to developers
SMAPE  News  SDK for Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 now available to developers

Software developers now have a good chance to try their hand at designing software for the anticipated Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 smartphone. However the fact that the gadget runs on the Windows Mobile 6.1 OS will make their task much easier.

For the present moment the XPERIA X1 is the most powerful and functional device by the Swedish-Japanese alliance. The smartphone is an arc slider with a side slide QWERTY keypad, a 3” screen with a resolution of 800x400 pixels and a 3.2 Mp autofocusing camera with flash.

The SDK offered to developers is based on the Visual Studio Shell, that is Sony Ericsson don’t offer any new schemes of software engineering, but, on the contrary, do everything so that their scheme of work didn’t feature any striking innovations. The manufacturer also claims that with the help of this SDK the already existing Windows Mobile applications can be adapted to run on the XPERIA X1. The main distinction of the package designed for X1 is the support for the Touch Panel interface, which is the main distinguishing feature of the gadget. The released beta-version works with the following programming languages: HTML, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), C and C++. The launch date of the tool’s final version remains undisclosed at this time.
