9 Mpix camera module for mobile devices
SMAPE  News  9 Mpix camera module for mobile devices

The DIS (Digital Imaging Systems) company developed a 9 Mpix CMOS camera codenamed DIS6931.

A major feature of the new camera is the availability of AF and Neutral Density (ND) Filter.

The module allows for taking pictures at a resolution of 3488x2616 pixels and recording videos at a resolution of 640x480 pixels and a frame rate of 30 frames per second. The new product offers ultra-fast autofocus performance. It takes only 300 ms to autofocus the lens and 200 ms to capture the frame. The power consumption of DIS6931 is 175 mW. Thanks to the high-quality optics, mechanical shutter and ND-filter, the quality of the images is on a high level.

The DIS6931 camera modules are going to be used in manufacturing mobile phones in the fourth quarter of 2008.
