Samsung i7110 - a Nokia N79 killer? The Vice President of the Samsung corporation Yoon Ki-Heung voiced the ambitious task of Samsung becoming the leader on the local Singapore telecom market by the end of 2010.
It’s memorable that Samsung has previously been through a comparable sort of experience: back in 2005 the company covered 9% of the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) TV panel market, yet subsequently its market share was pulled up by three times, reaching 27% - all of this owing to a cleverly orchestrated promotional campaign involving public opinion manipulation. Currently Samsung keep a leading position on the said market with a share of 35%. The current mission might look impossible to someone: some 45% of the local market in Singapore is occupied by Nokia, so Samsung will have a hard time persuading the consumer audience to switch sides. One of the planned steps to achieve this is to offer a range of products with characteristics going on par with their Nokia homologues, yet featuring a more affordable price. 06.08.2008 |
